Updates From Drill

James had drill this weekend. Saturday, Sunday, and today, Monday. He found out a lot about what's going on. Especially today. So here are some updates and some lists of things we need to get done.

Updates about Yellow Ribbon event: We finally found out an approximate time of when this is going to take place. YAY! We also found out that it's going to be like an 8 hour long thing!! And it's mainly going to consist of paperwork and information for the families. James' parents and I will be the only one's joining him for this. I'm hoping we find out like what kind of stuff we are able to send him in care packages. They are supposed to be sending us orders to attend this. And two of us (hopefully me and James' mom) will be getting paid to attend.

Updates on the Deployment: I found out that I may get free health care while James is gone. That will be good. I hope. We found out he is most likely leaving sometime around september 20-23. We also found out that there is a possibility that I may be able to come visit him sometime in the first two months he's gone. For those who don't know how this is working, James will be going to an army base somewhere in the U.S. (which he thinks it may be Fort Dick, which he thinks is in NJ?) for two months to train and get in good shape. So sometime in those first two months, I may get to go visit him before he's actually sent to Iraq. Which I am SOOOO hoping for.

Other Stuff we need to do:
-Get me an army I.D.
-Get me put on James' bank account

Also, just to vent some frustrations... There's this jerk army sargeant who is actually on my husband's team (meaning unfortunately that he will be stuck with him constantly for his whole deployment) who just picks on James and is a complete like a$$hole. James won't say anything to him because he says he not allowed to. But I so wish I could just be rude to him and tell him off. I'm afraid though, that if I do, it will only cause James MORE problems, and I definitely don't want that. He's been going through enough crap with this guy already. I'm not gonna get into the details of the whole situation, but I just really have to say, I don't like this guy ONE bit!!

That's all for now, more blogs hopefully within the next week or so.

First Blog Post on Blogger!

Well this is my first ever blog post using Blogger.com. I'm not quite familiar with this site yet. I hope to be very soon though. Make sure you read my About Me section. It tells quite a few important facts about me. I signed up for Blogger.com because I wanted to be able to blog about what's going on in my life because I won't have a lot of people to talk to. So this will kind of be like an online diary for me.

My husband who is in the Army Reserves, will be getting deployed around the end of september sometime, and will be gone for about a year to Iraq. This would be his first deployment, and to be completely honest with you, I'm very scared. And I know he is too. This is going to be very hard on both of us. We have a lot to discuss, plan for, and go buy, before he leaves. Along with my 21st birthday, and our 2nd wedding anniversary to celebrate. Meanwhile, he is still working as a lifeguard up until the first week of september. And sometime after that, we are hoping to take a short vacation before he leaves also.

With this blog, I will be writing about my feelings, events that are happening, updating everyone on how James is doing, and let you know what my life without my husband is like. But until he leaves, it will mainly be about my life, my feelings about him leaving, and our plans we're making. So I hope you enjoy this blog, become a follower! And I hope that I will eventually get better at this!!!
